Sailing: La Reina Trophy
The best Spanish ORC boats and teams will gather in Valencia for the sixteenth anniversary of the race.
July 1 – July 10
Festival of Hiking and Mountain
For three days, La Palma, one of the Canary Islands and idyllic hiking destination, is arranging a series of guided routes in Spanish, English and German. This is an opportunity to discover a hiking paradise that take in some of the loveliest spots in La Palma.
Medieval Theatre Festival
Held in Hita, the Festival begins with the “Botargas” and “Danzantes de la Somosierra” that act for the town accompanied by pipers and “dulzanias” (clarinet-style instrument). There are medieval lunch and dinners on the hill, tournaments and running of the bulls in the Palenque, as well as a carnival procession, archery, popular dance and more.
July 3 – July 9
Windsurfing at Pozo Izquierdo
Gran Canaria, in the Canary Islands, hosts a competition for the World Windsurfing Championship. The climate conditions in Pozo Izquierdo provide waves upwards of 1-3 meters, making the sport a real spectacle.
American Independence Day (The Fourth of July)

Running of the Bulls (Fiesta de San Fermín)
As probably Spain’s most famous festival, this event is a magnet for thrill-seekers across the globe. Hundreds of thousands of Spanish and International visitors sport their white shirts and red bandanas as they watch the brave few engage in a mad dash ahead of rampaging bulls through the narrow streets of Pamplona.
July 7 – July 31
Almagro Classical Theater Festival
Held in Almagro (Ciudad Real), the Corral de Comedias and other theatres will host a diverse international program of performing and visual arts. The program will be topped off with workshops and events in which participants of all ages will discover different ways to enjoy theatre in the summer.
2016 UEFA European Championship Match
Also known as Euro 2016, this is the 15th time the international men’s football leagues meet for a European championship. The game will be held in Paris, France, but will be watched nearly everywhere in Europe.
July 14 – July 17
Festival Internacional de Benicassim
This huge rock concert near Valencia attracts bands and artists from all over the world. Some big names include: Major Lazer, The Chemical Brothers, Muse, Disclosure, Kendrick Lamar, The Maccabees, The 1975, Jess Glynne and many others.
July 20 – July 25
San Sebastián International Jazz Festival
For six days at eight different venues, more than 60 jazz performances are scheduled. The Kursaal Centre and Trinidad Square both offer paying concerts, while other venues including Zurriola Beach and the terraces at the Kursaal Centre have concerts for free.
