The Eyes Wide Open film series, presented by U.S. Citizens for Peace & Justice – Rome, shows current affairs documentaries, in English, every other Thursday at the Circolo ARCI Arcobaleno, via Pullino1, Rome, Metro Garbatella. A short discussion follows in English (but Italian is OK, too). Drinks (including artisan beers) and a light dinner can be enjoyed before or during the film. Screenings are free but small donations are welcome. ARCI Arcobaleno membership is 7 euros per year and is valid for various discounts in Rome.

This Thursday, April 13, 2017, at 8pm, see the award-winning documentary “The Kill Team” (Dan Krauss, USA, 2014, 79 min.)

The film examines the immense psychological pressure U.S. troops in Afghanistan face, how sadistic war crimes become just a game for many of the soldiers and how trying to stop their crimes makes a fellow soldier… the enemy. More than a film about our bloody, 16-year-long occupation of Afghanistan, “The Kill Team” examines one’s man’s need to come clean and the price he paid. A true story.

Winner of the Tribeca Film Festival and the San Francisco International Film Fest.
